Hello, Sorry, no new mix for September. I’ve been so busy with work. I’m back to working somewhat regular hours until Christmas. Hopefully a new mix will be up by this weekend.

I have returned. Thanks to those who have patient with me during my move to a new city, and change of job. I have a new mix up. I litterally only unpacked my equipment this week. Though I haven’t been mixing, I’ve still been buying plenty of new tracks. Enjoy the new mix and hopefully you guys have been missing me just as much as I’ve been missing you. Prodigal Mix

Belated Canada Day MixPosted by: A_BoyNamedSiu in Miscellaneous, Mixes, Music News, Other People's Music Radio Show, Reviews, Site NewsPlenty of big news. First off, a new mix is up. In celebration of July 1st, Canada Day, I’ve been meaning to do an all Canadian content mix. Obviously, I’m a bit late, but better late than never. I chose tracks that are either originally composed or remixed by Canadian artists and producers. Secondly, I’ve found a new job and will be relocating to Calgary, Alberta Canada. I currently reside in Edmonton, which is just under 300km North of Calgary, so though it isn’t that much of a move, it’s still relocating. All of which leads to my third point. My past job, having to move to a new city and getting settled, has drastically cut into my spinning time. I will be taking a break for what is most likely, the remainder of the summer. This will give me a chance to get settled in a new city, a new job and hopefully recharge the dj-ing batteries, sort of speak. I will try and keep contributing to the blog in different ways. Either through music reviews and videos, time permitting

Do Easy MixPosted by: A_BoyNamedSiu in Mixes, Reviews, tags: Freerange Records, Jose Amnesia, Karen Overton, Minilogue, Only Freak, Spirit CatcherThis weeks mix is named after the first track, Minilogues, Doiici. A great track with some interesting vocals. This is probably the funniest mixes I’ve done in awhile. I could easily consider each track one of my top tracks at the moment. Two tracks, Only Freak’s Mental Overdrive and Manuel Tur’s Boxed Rivers is off of the Freerange 100 Parts 1 and 2. A great release off of the Freerange Records, that I highly recomend. Only Freak is another alias of Spirit Catcher, a Belgium duo whose releases I’ve been really enjoying as of late. Finished the mix off with a new edit of Karen Overton’s, Your Loving Arms, done by Jose Amnesia. Enjoy Read the rest of this entry »

My First, and Last…Posted by: A_BoyNamedSiu in Miscellaneous, Music, tags: Foosh Apparel, Treehouse Records…modeling gig. Check out Treehouse Records new location. Treehouse Records is an Edmonton owned and operated music store. Originally a part of Foosh Apparel, branched out for a year and is now back in its original location. It’s one of the last standing vinyl stores for all variety of electronic music in Edmonton. Big props to the Foosh/Treehouse guys and their commitment to keeping vinyl available to the masses. Please, support your local vinyl pushers. And don’t worry, I probably won’t be giving up music to concentrate on modeling any time soon. |
